Sleep better, relax and focus with Bitsybetter

Sleep better, relax and focus with Bitsybetter

That’s sounds amazing right? And that’s why Bitsybetter also got my attention straight away.

A while back I got reached out by them if I wanted to try out their products: the brainy, relax- and sleepy pills. All pills are gluten free and lactose free and contain no allergens. Also, all pills (besides their study pill, but I didn’t try that one) are vegan.

Some extra information I got from the website that is good to know:

“Bitsybetter products consist exclusively of safe and natural ingredients. Our products are manufactured in the Netherlands, under strict pharmaceutical supervision. The ingredients in our products are checked in advance for quality, hygiene and origin. The ingredients are then mixed in the right proportions and filled in a vegetarian capsule or pressed into a tablet. Bitsybetter products meet the requirements of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)”

I really like that the products contain natural ingredients and it made me really curious to try everything out.

The first product I want to talk about is Sleepy. This is the product that interested me the most because I have a lot of trouble falling asleep. It normally takes me around 1,5 – 2 hours before I fall asleep. This pill promise to help you fall asleep faster and also helps you to overcome a jetlag. According to Bitsybetter you won’t get dependent on the product and it only consists of 100% natural ingredients: Melatonin and L-Theanine.

Advice for use is to take 1-2 pills 30 minutes before you go to bed. When I first tried this product I was on the phone with my friend in the evening and I told her I just tried it out (as I popped in 2 pills right before I called her). In the beginning I wasn’t even tired at all and I noticed that throughout our phone call I started yawning more and more to the point where I constantly had to yawn. I actually fell asleep quite easily and I was really impressed with the results.

Also when I tried this product other times I really noticed falling a sleep sooner than normal as I laid down in bed way more relaxed. However, I suggest to read about Melatonin before you start using this product. Some say Melatonin might make you more tired in the morning if you take it too soon before going to bed. So my advice is to maybe take it earlier than 30 minutes before going to bed so your body will have enough time processing it. But then again, every body is different so I would recommend doing what works best for you.

The second product is Brainy. This pill support concentration and memory. Brainy contains a combination of the most popular natural ingredients in the brain segment: Radiola, Rosea, L-Theanine, Bacopa, Ashwgandha, Caffeine, Tyrosine and Gingko Bilabo.
To be honest, this does not ring a bell at all lol. So here is some extra information about these ingredients that I got from the Bitsybetter website:

Radiola Rosea – Radiola Rosea is also called rose root. This is a plant that belongs to the succulents. RR is used for years as a traditional medium for its proper functioning.

L-Theanine – L-Theanine is an amino acid found in the green tea plant. It is responsible for the characteristic taste of green tea. Dried green tea contains about 1 to 2 % of theanine.

L-Tyrosine – L-Tyrosine is a semi essential amino acid. It is formed in the human body out of fenylalanine, but under certain circumstances our body does not produce enough. Our daily food does also contain L-Tyrosine

Ginkgo Biloba – The origin of Ginkgo Biloba is the biloba tree, it has been used in traditional Chinese herbalism for centuries.

Bacopa Monnieri – is a herb that has been used for centuries in India. The bacosides in Bacopa Monnieri are responsible for the beneficial properties of the herb.

Ashwaghanda – Ashwaganda is a herb that is seen as an adaptogen. An important quality of adaptogens is the positive influence they can have both on body and mind.

Caffeine – Caffeine gives you a boost, ideal in situations when you need just that little extra.

Sounds promising. Again with this pill it is recommended to take 1-2 pills. It should work within 30 minutes and they say not to take more than 3 pills a day.

I first tried this pill when I was having a really busy and hectic day at work. At one point I really felt like I could use some energy boost and that’s when I decided to take the pill. I have to admit that a short while after I took the pill I felt more energetic, but maybe even a bit too much. It’s good, because it shows the pill definitely works. I took two pills, but I think next time I’ll take one because the pill also contains caffeine and I don’t like it when I get too much cafeine in my body.

So the second time I tried the pill, I decided to only go for 1 and I liked that way better! It just gives you that extra boost when you need it and I find this a great product while having a long and hectic day at work.

The last product I tried is Relax. The Relax would make you feel relaxed and would calm you in stressful situations. This sounds really nice to me. I think taking a pill like this would ideally be after a long day at work when you just got home. With a hot cup of tea, a book or magazine on the couch and just chill out.

So what’s exactly in the Relax? According to the website, the product contains:

Lemon balm – The leaves of lemon balm are calming.

Valerian extract – The roots of the valerian plant is the part of which a pure concentrated extract is made. Valerian gives a relaxed and peaceful feeling.

L-Theanine – L-Theanine is an amino acid found in the green tea plant. It is responsible for the characteristic taste of green tea. Dried green tea contains about 1 to 2 % of theanine.

I also find this product really nice before going to bed just to feel more relaxed and zen after a long day.

So to conclude this article: I’m very positive about the products of Bitsybetter. For me personally, I wouldn’t depend on these kind of products every single day, just because I don’t want my body to depend on mood products in general (for this reason I also limit my intake of coffee). But I do think it’s a great opportunity to have products like these on days when you could use a extra boost. Also, what I really like is that these products contain of all natural ingredients.
